This cake makes me think of a peaceful stroll through a flower-filled field with soft purples, fresh green grass, and delicate blossoms all around. I wanted something simple and calming, with a bit of texture and charm. And the best part? I only used two piping tips, but it still came out looking detailed and pretty.
I started by covering the cake in whipped cream and smoothing it out, then used a spiral pattern on the top to give it a soft, finished look. It's a subtle detail, but one I always enjoy doing!
If you give it a try, I'd love to see your version!
Piping Tips Used:
K01 – grass, lavender sprigs
K10 – pink and purplish-white flowers
whipped cream
To bring the base to life, I piped grass all around the bottom edge using Kootek Tip K01. After that, I went in with a small brush to soften the lines and give the grass a more realistic look.
For the stems of the flowers and lavender, I kept it super simple and used a toothpick to draw them directly onto the cake. It worked beautifully as a soft guide and gave the whole design a hand-painted feel.
Then, using Tip K01 again, I piped the lavender sprigs in little rows of small dots. It added such nice texture and depth while keeping the look delicate.
All the other flowers were piped using Tip K10, both the pink blooms and the whitish-purple ones. I loved how versatile this tip was for creating full, rounded petals directly on the cake.
Once they were in place, I used the brush again to add a few more soft green leaves by the flower stems to finish off the garden look.
To tie everything together, I added a ring of white sprinkles around the top of the cake and placed some along the sides of the cake as well. I love how they add dimension and a little extra sparkle without taking away from the softness of the flowers.
This cake felt so peaceful and was so fun to decorate. Sometimes keeping things simple really lets the textures and colors shine and I'd absolutely make this design again.
